Projects

The Light for the Eye Foundation travels to the most remote villages in the Volta Region of Ghana to provide free eye care. Our mobile teams carry out professional eye examinations, perform crucial diabetes screenings, and fit eyeglasses on the spot.

Every pair of glasses we provide is a window to a brighter future: a child can once again learn at school, a parent can support their family, and an elderly person can maintain independence. By bridging the distance and delivering care personally, we make a tangible difference.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate: Your contribution directly becomes a pair of glasses, an eye exam, and a life transformed.
  • Share: Amplify our impact by sharing our story.
  • Purchase: Support our mission by buying glasses from one of our partners.

A Flying Start: Our Mission Begins

The very first day of our mission was an immediate success. With deep dedication, and combining Dutch and local expertise, we committed ourselves fully to restoring the priceless gift of sight. To launch this project, we received the approval of the local tribal chief.

Eye Care: Every Day a New Victory

Every sight restored, every diagnosis made, felt like a small victory. Today, we once again helped dozens of people with professional eye care—from preventive screenings to fitting eyeglasses.

First Stage Complete: Hohoe Gains Sight!

Final preparations for Phase 1 are underway!

From October 27 to 30, we will kick off our mission in Hohoe and the surrounding communities. There, we will distribute over 100 customized prescription glasses that were prescribed during our previous visit.

With your contribution we give sight to eyes that would otherwise remain unseen.
